“PUEBLO BONITO“
It is a small indigenous community of 50 people in the Republic of Panama. The community, Puru Bakirú, was founded on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Today, the community is known as Puru Biakirú, which in the Emberá dialect means "beautiful village."
The first people to settle there were the Ruiz family: Elias Ruiz and his wife, Alicia Caisamo, and their five children, Eneldo Ruiz, Ángel Ruiz, Euclides Ruiz, Ivan Ruiz, and Eliecer Ruiz. They left the Darién province in the 1970s in search of a better life near Panama City.
One of the most beautiful places in Panama, nestled within Chagres National Park, is located 40 minutes from Panama City. We will visit the Emberá Puru Biarikú community. A blend of pristine nature, the community practices sustainable tourism and is dedicated to protecting the environmental resources of the national park.
Hiking and Cascada
On a journey along the majestic Chagres River, we will find the Cascada Bonita waterfall to cool off from the tropical heat and observe the nature of Panama.
